5 Things That Inspire Me

My Mom

Everyone, myself included, has horrible moments with their mom sometimes. Those times when she's just frustrating you beyond belief. But, I can say, without a doubt, that my mom is definitely one of the top 5 things that inspire me. Since I was about five, I've admired how strong, put together and determined she is. She had a tough childhood. With her parents fighting all of the time and eventually divorcing, as the oldest child of four she had to basically play mom all of the time to compensate for her parents not being there. She did this at around 16/17 so she obviously had to sacrifice a lot. She's a successful entrepreneur and mother of five. I'm glad I'm one of those five.

Laughter
I love to laugh. I laugh at least once a day, even on the bad ones. Even if I don't want to laugh, it can creep up on me.There's really nothing better than something that makes you laugh so hard that you have tears in your eyes. Laughing can cause people to interact or connect when they probably wouldn't have otherwise. (Wow, just noticed that I'm wearing something similar to what my mom is in that pic^...unintentional. Told you she inspires me.)

Coffee
I love a hot and sweet cup of coffee. It's the perfect thing to drink on a rainy or cold day. However, I drink it even on the really hot days in Florida because I just love it so much. It's the perfect thing to sit and have a conversation over. I absolutley love the idea of a coffee dateThe first thing I think about when I wake up is getting a coffee to jumpstart the day. I don't really drink it for the energizing side effect but rather for the smell and taste. The smell and taste of it makes me focus so well.

Mock Trial
Anybody who knows me, knows that I LOVE Mock Trial. I started my sophomore year and that's when I found my true passion. When people ask me what it is, I compare it to a sport. It's competitive, exhilarating and takes A LOT of practice. I love to decipher a case, dress up and compete while showcasing my talents and skills. I can't wait to one day be a professional.

Fashion
Fashion designers are truly inspirational people because their clothing are pieces of art that are unique to them. I absolutely love getting new clothes and putting outfits together. Outfits can make such a statement. They can say so much about a person and what their style is. The industry is so intriguing to me.

The 7 Elements of Design

SPACE: area that can be used by being filled up or left blank.
VALUE: the intensity of the reflection of light.
COLOR: your interpretation of the way that light reflects off of objects.
TEXTURE: visual and physical feeling of a picture or object.
SHAPE: anything that surrounds an object but is not the actual object that which outlines it.
FORM: the specific way that an object appears to be outlined and where.
LINE: something that outlines all of the terms listed above.

COLOR: I see green, orange, blue and pink. What do you see?

VALUE: So, ultimately I see green and yellow. However, the light that is shining on this group of flowers and the leaves is creating different values of both green and orange.

SHAPE: These two cameras have a very odd shape. It's nothing common like a circle or a square. The real reason that we can see the shape is because of the variation of the colors in this picture. The white stands out against the tan wall.

SPACE: So, this picture to me is very aesthetic and that's mainly due to the fact that there is some space that is not filled up (the brick wall). Every picture on this page has some space really but this one in particular is using space in a way that makes the picture look appealing.

LINE: There are lines making up every off shape in this picture.

TEXTURE; Although I have a felt a fence and know exactly what it feels like, if I hadn't, I would get a perfect idea of what a fence feels like by looking at this picture. The light bounces off the different edges of the material that makes up the fence links and create a texture.
FORM: Although these are all buckets, they take different forms.
